After a defensive mix-up in Formentera's zone, Renan Barbosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Justo Estefan came out of the goal and Renan Barbosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 5 minutes into the match, Formentera's goal looked a bit too open when Renan Barbosa came free, but Justo Estefan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 0-1 became the score in the 5th minute when Renan Barbosa elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Justo Estefan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natanael Fernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Ruy Loureiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonides Manny, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 35th match minute, Formentera was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabian Semeno to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th minute, Tobias Ponciano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 43 played minutes Formentera got a freekick which was hit by Bogumil Czubski. Ruy Loureiro made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Jan-Erik Lönn sent off a good shot on target. Ruy Loureiro was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jan-Erik Lönn showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 47 minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jan-Erik Lönn to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan-Erik Lönn in the 53rd minute of play forced Montevideo's goalkeeper Ruy Loureiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Clóvis Paraense didn't get a good kick on the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goal looked a bit too open when Jan-Erik Lönn came free, but Ruy Loureiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute, Jan-Erik Lönn left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Formentera fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Renan Barbosa kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Formentera were furious when Tobias Ponciano was red carded, 83 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 83rd minute of the game. One of Formentera:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Montevideo:s goal. Formentera:s Justo Estefan showed great skill when he stopped Clóvis Paraense:s penalty. Ruy Loureiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonides Manny, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Ruy Loureiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Erik Lönn in the 93rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anselmo Valladares during the 99th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ruy Loureiro came out of the goal in the 100th minute to try and stop a shot by Formentera's Jan-Erik Lönn. But to his dismay, Jan-Erik Lönn quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Formentera's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
