An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustin Pillado in the 3rd minute of play forced Catugi FC's goalkeeper Folke Österlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Catugi FC's Leonel Varela got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nando de Alcântara did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Arias Burgo 12 minutes into the match. Folke Österlund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Téo Meireles in the 15th minute of the match. Leonel Varela hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Ferreira in the 21st minute of play forced Catugi FC's goalkeeper Folke Österlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arias Burgo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nando de Alcântara in the 22nd minute of play. Arias Burgo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinei Carioca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by C.A. GUAYACO's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Hernani Travassos was slow to take the kick. During this time Catugi FC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Hernani Travassos got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Arias Burgo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Folke Österlund stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Ferreira's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Arias Burgo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nando de Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Folke Österlund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Ferreira in the 42nd minute of the match. Arias Burgo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nando de Alcântara's shot from short distance in the 44th minute.

The wind increased when Nando de Alcântara made the kick off in the second half. Luís Ferreira struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Folke Österlund didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A. GUAYACO. When Catugi FC's Nando de Alcântara in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye C.A. GUAYACO's goalie prevented a goal. 58 minutes into the match, Catugi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Ferreira came free, but Folke Österlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Folke Österlund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustin Pillado in the 61st minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, C.A. GUAYACO's goal looked a bit too open when Nando de Alcântara came free, but Arias Burgo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Nando de Alcântara had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arias Burgo. C.A. GUAYACO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nando de Alcântara was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. The Catugi FC fans' excitement grew in the 70th match minute when Catugi FC's Nando de Alcântara looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. C.A. GUAYACO's Domingo Moroño was substituted for Agustin Pillado. In the 79th minute Leonel Varela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arias Burgo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Domingo Moroño in the 80thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Folke Österlund, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 80th minute, Hernani Travassos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Folke Österlund made an important save on a dangerous shot by Domingo Moroño in the 83rd minute. After having played for 85 minutes, Leonel Varela managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catugi FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonel Varela was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Catugi FC's Folke Österlund proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Catugi FC from getting a goal against them. In the 88th minute, Hernani Travassos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arias Burgo was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Arias Burgo came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Catugi FC's Leonel Varela. But to his dismay, Leonel Varela quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. C.A. GUAYACO's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
