The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute Cícero da Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juvenal Moreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arí Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juvenal Moreira having to interfere. Juvenal Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arí Machado, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Juvenal Moreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arí Machado in the 11th minute of the match. CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Edmundo Valle in the 12th minute. The corner led CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Edmundo Valle to fire away a dangerous shot which Juvenal Moreira despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Juvenal Moreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cícero da Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cícero da Costa in the 23rd minute of play forced Mosqueteiros 4EVER's goalkeeper Juvenal Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the game, CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Arí Machado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Juvenal Moreira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After a rather tough play, CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Sílvio Dantas got a free kick in the 27th minute. Edgar Veloso hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. The supporters of CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA booed when Mosqueteiros 4EVER was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgar Veloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmundo Valle took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Juvenal Moreira. Mosqueteiros 4EVER's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Mosqueteiros 4EVER's Juvenal Moreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cícero da Costa in the 42nd minute of play. After the first half CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cícero da Costa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Edgar Veloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cícero da Costa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Juvenal Moreira made a huge save. Cícero da Costa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Juvenal Moreira came out and tried to block the shot, but Cícero da Costa slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 60th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mosqueteiros 4EVER's zone, Arí Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juvenal Moreira came out of the goal and Arí Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Juvenal Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Dantas, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Melquiades Amor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norberto do Nascimento in the 66th minute of play. Ardwyad Vulcan kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Edgar Veloso's late challenge caught a CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edgar Veloso helped the player get up and apologised. In the 82nd minute, CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Arí Machado ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Juvenal Moreira. Juvenal Moreira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. Arí Machado kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. After 88 minutes, Germano Sabóia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mosqueteiros 4EVER and the CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Mosqueteiros 4EVER getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Germano Sabóia hit a great ball. If Cícero da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd match minute, Mosqueteiros 4EVER was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Ceresso to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cícero da Costa got free with Juvenal Moreira in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mosqueteiros 4EVER's Juvenal Moreira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Mosqueteiros 4EVER from getting a goal against them. After 96 minutes of play, Mosqueteiros 4EVER's Nando Barros made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Melquiades Amor was left in no man's land by his defense there! The CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
