The Sport Club Mavericks fans' excitement grew in the 9th match minute when Sport Club Mavericks's Dre Schipmans looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Dre Schipmans's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Doni Meirelles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. 14 minutes into the game, Sport Club Mavericks's Laércio Paraíba nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Doni Meirelles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Doni Meirelles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dre Schipmans in the 16th minute of play. Dre Schipmans struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Doni Meirelles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Club Mavericks. If Dre Schipmans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dre Schipmans in the 24th minute of play forced ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s goalkeeper Doni Meirelles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcelo Gröhe was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Vítor Teles showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 26 minute of play. After the first half Sport Club Mavericks were leading 1-7. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

If Zhuo Yin Hong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Sport Club Mavericks could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽ throughout the match.
