The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to E.C.MUKY JOINVILLE getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. César Salgado hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clóvis Paraense in the 5th minute of play forced E.C.MUKY JOINVILLE's goalkeeper Jorge Furtado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oleg Timofeev was out of position in the 6 minute of play, and Josué Viana capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Josué Viana really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Jorge Furtado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathias dos Santos in the 12th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Jano Cavalcante had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jorge Furtado. E.C.MUKY JOINVILLE's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jano Cavalcante was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 19th minute Jano Cavalcante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Furtado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jano Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, E.C.MUKY JOINVILLE's Maurício Soeiro got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Oleg Timofeev was a little too slow when Válbson Vale got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 24th minute. The score was now 2-1. Jorge Furtado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jano Cavalcante in the 28th minute of play. Jorge Furtado came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Montevideo's Clóvis Paraense. But to his dismay, Clóvis Paraense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. In the 33rd minute, Jano Cavalcante left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Montevideo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. 40 minutes into the match, Jano Cavalcante notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of E.C.MUKY JOINVILLE's Jorge Furtado. Jorge Furtado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rafinha Custódio to make the kick off. E.C.MUKY JOINVILLE's Jorge Furtado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save E.C.MUKY JOINVILLE from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jano Cavalcante got free with Jorge Furtado in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Mathias dos Santos came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Montevideo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mathias dos Santos couldn't finish the play. When E.C.MUKY JOINVILLE's Rafinha Custódio in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Montevideo's goalie prevented a goal. After 64 played minutes Montevideo got a freekick which was hit by Deivid Barbosa. 67 minutes into the match, E.C.MUKY JOINVILLE's goalkeeper Jorge Furtado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jano Cavalcante. When Deivid Barbosa was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 69 minutes had been played. The supporters of E.C.MUKY JOINVILLE booed when Montevideo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Deivid Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. E.C.MUKY JOINVILLE made a substitution. Nildo Gomes replaced Válbson Vale. A collision led to Montevideo getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Deivid Barbosa hit a great ball. If Rafinha Custódio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laerte Paraíba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Furtado having to interfere. E.C.MUKY JOINVILLE's defense didn't have a chance, in the 77th minute, when Anselmo Valladares scored to the left of an out of position Jorge Furtado, making the score, 2-5. After some careless play in the Montevideo defense, Nildo Gomes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oleg Timofeev. The Montevideo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oleg Timofeev should have stopped the shot. 88 minutes into the game, Rafinha Custódio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-5. Oleg Timofeev was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 92 minutes into the game, E.C.MUKY JOINVILLE's Nildo Gomes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Oleg Timofeev made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-5. Montevideo were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
