Ortiz Zumarraga took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Oleg Timofeev. Oleg Timofeev dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. A hard shot 9 in the game by Luís Ferreira from a close distance when the talented Oleg Timofeev managed to make a qualified save. Montevideo's players were relieved. Batista Fuica made a great header on C.A. GUAYACO's corner, it was just that Montevideo's Oleg Timofeev managed to reach the ball for a save. Arias Burgo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathias dos Santos in the 12th minute of play. Armando Paniagua could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Oleg Timofeev made a huge save. Oleg Timofeev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Ferreira in the 15th minute of the match. C.A. GUAYACO's Arias Burgo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jano Cavalcante in the 17th minute of play. In the 18thth minute of the game Jano Cavalcante who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.A. GUAYACO's Arias Burgo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Montevideo's zone, Armando Paniagua stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oleg Timofeev came out of the goal and Armando Paniagua tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arias Burgo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jano Cavalcante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Montevideo's Oleg Timofeev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Paniagua in the 26th minute of play. Arias Burgo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Pedro Ribeiro in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustin Pillado in the 31st minute of play forced Montevideo's goalkeeper Oleg Timofeev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Batista Fuica fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.A. GUAYACO's protests and gave Batista Fuica a yellow card for diving instead. In the 35th match minute, C.A. GUAYACO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Batista Fuica to maneuver through the defense. 36 minutes into the match, C.A. GUAYACO's goal looked a bit too open when Clóvis Paraense came free, but Arias Burgo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute, Virgilio Canton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Montevideo's Oleg Timofeev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustin Pillado in the 41st minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Armando Paniagua dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Oleg Timofeev, 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Armando Paniagua made a kick off. If Zé Pedro Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathias dos Santos in the 61st minute of play forced C.A. GUAYACO's goalkeeper Arias Burgo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arias Burgo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathias dos Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 68th minute Armando Paniagua shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oleg Timofeev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th minute, Mathias dos Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70th match minute, Montevideo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathias dos Santos to maneuver through the defense. C.A. GUAYACO's Arias Burgo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save C.A. GUAYACO from getting a goal against them. Armando Paniagua scored 3-1 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Oleg Timofeev, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
