In the 7th match minute, F.C. Paços de Ferreira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabrício Travassos to maneuver through the defense. Ricardo Tavares's late challenge caught a Brasiliense FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ricardo Tavares helped the player get up and apologised. Hermínio Pinheiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Xuacu Xuan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermínio Pinheiro in the 15th minute of play forced Brasiliense FC's goalkeeper Xuacu Xuan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the match, F.C. Paços de Ferreira's goal looked a bit too open when Walmir Fernandes came free, but Durval Paiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Hermínio Pinheiro got a free kick in the 17th minute. After having played for 23 minutes, Matías Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brasiliense FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matías Pereira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tudor Panțâru scored 0-3 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Durval Paiva, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Xuacu Xuan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermínio Pinheiro in the 34th minute of play. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Durval Paiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tudor Panțâru in the 37th minute of play. After having played for 46 minutes, Hermínio Pinheiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermínio Pinheiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Habakkuk Beardsley stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Walmir Fernandes got free with Durval Paiva in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 60 minutes into the match, F.C. Paços de Ferreira's goalkeeper Durval Paiva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tudor Panțâru. Tudor Panțâru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durval Paiva having to interfere. Habakkuk Beardsley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Durval Paiva made a huge save. Xuacu Xuan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermínio Pinheiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 71st minute of the match F.C. Paços de Ferreira got a corner. Brasiliense FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hermínio Pinheiro ran over to the corner to take the kick. Joaquim Roriz was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Durval Paiva made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Habakkuk Beardsley sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulo Ferreira during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Brasiliense FC's Juninho de Azevedo got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Durval Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Habakkuk Beardsley in the 85th minute of play. Tudor Panțâru could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Durval Paiva made a huge save. Habakkuk Beardsley scored 0-4 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Durval Paiva, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Durval Paiva didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tudor Panțâru went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. When the match was over Brasiliense FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than F.C. Paços de Ferreira throughout the match.
