After a rather tough play, Åsnes's Tor-Kristian Fosse got a free kick in the 23rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olli-Pekka Suoste in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christer Waaler saved Åsnes from getting behind. In the 27th minute, Fredrik Hebnes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Papillon AC booed when Åsnes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kim Alnes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Christer Waaler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olli-Pekka Suoste, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Olli-Pekka Suoste fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christer Waaler having to interfere. Olli-Pekka Suoste succeeded in the game's 46th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kim Alnes made a kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Papillon AC's goal looked a bit too open when Kim Alnes came free, but Narciso Froylan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Severino Niva got free with Christer Waaler in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 66th minute, Kim Alnes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Åsnes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Kim Alnes's late challenge caught a Papillon AC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kim Alnes helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Papillon AC booed when Åsnes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kim Alnes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olli-Pekka Suoste could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Christer Waaler made a huge save. In the 85th minute of the game Aristides Sansone made a throw-in which Teofilo Milian played forward. Narciso Froylan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kim Alnes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th match minute, Papillon AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victoriano Mikelats to maneuver through the defense. 90 minutes into the match, Åsnes's Jon-Inge Nysæter sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Narciso Froylan narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
