Moath Al Ansari might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Matei Crețu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Moath Al Ansari ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 15th minute Moath Al Ansari shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matei Crețu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's Shaheen Al Ali got control of the ball when Marian Morovan tried to sneak it across the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's Moath Al Ansari nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Matei Crețu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. BVB 09's Matei Crețu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moath Al Ansari in the 27th minute of play. Moath Al Ansari received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Matei Crețu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marian Morovan in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Shaheen Al Ali prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bader Al Jalahma's late challenge caught a BVB 09's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bader Al Jalahma helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's Bader Al Jalahma got a free kick in the 33rd minute. The supporters of DUBAI Palm Jumeirah booed when BVB 09 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cezar Negru didn't get a good kick on the ball. 37 minutes into the match, DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's Moath Al Ansari broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. Shaheen Al Ali acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 43rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Valeriu Blaj. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Dragoş Ivasiuc in the 77th minute of play forced DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's goalkeeper Shaheen Al Ali to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 78 minutes of play DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's Maitham Al Hajraf was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's Maitham Al Hajraf got a free kick in the 78th minute. In the 86th minute, Sobah Bahbhani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. BVB 09 had played much better football throughout.
