Wanderson Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 16 minutes into the match, Austra VFC's goal looked a bit too open when Hélio Terra came free, but Alfredão Fernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by Austra VFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gian-Carlo Van Damme was slow to take the kick. During this time Airborne FC's players had a chance to rest. Dênis Santos made a great header on Airborne FC's corner, it was just that Austra VFC's Alfredão Fernandez managed to reach the ball for a save. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kit Vire to make the kick off.
