Laureano Gora made in the 13th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Luca Savini. Bernardo Raggio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flóki Cabezudo in the 15th minute of the match. Pedro Pelayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Judas Verón in the 18th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Judas Verón's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Pelayo was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Bernardo Raggio was a little too slow when Flóki Cabezudo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 26th minute. The score was now 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Flóki Cabezudo during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Stellenbosch getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Flóki Cabezudo hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the match, Stellenbosch's goal looked a bit too open when Judas Verón came free, but Pedro Pelayo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 36 minutes into the game, when Virgilio Remicio put in a rough tackle. 36 minutes into the game, one of Stellenbosch:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.

Belgrano de Pibasog's Maximiano Delgado quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Arnaldo Peter, made in the 91st minute of the game. Pedro Pelayo made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Garcia Morros sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Stellenbosch getting a freekick after 95 minutes play.
