In the 3rd minute Oliver Bierhoff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogério Ceni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Los Delfines's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by José Luis Brown in the 4th minute. The corner led Los Delfines's José Luis Brown to fire away a dangerous shot which Rogério Ceni despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Los Delfines's Matías Patrone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cumhur Günay in the 6th minute of play. Oliver Bierhoff recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 11 minutes into the match, Los Delfines's goal looked a bit too open when Cumhur Günay came free, but Matías Patrone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute, Honorio Eder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 18 minutes, Oscar Orzaize mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Los Delfines and the Belgrano LOS PIRATAS players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 18 played minutes Los Delfines got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Orzaize. Rogério Ceni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dani Cáceres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliver Bierhoff in the 23rd minute of play forced Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's goalkeeper Rogério Ceni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 24 minutes Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was José Luis Brown who took care of the corner kick. In the 28th minute of the match, Teodoro Hartz tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Matías Patrone saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Rogério Ceni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oliver Bierhoff in the 30th minute of the match. Cumhur Günay could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Matías Patrone made a huge save. José Luis Brown kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Matías Patrone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cumhur Günay, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. A collision led to Los Delfines getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. José Luis Brown hit a great ball. Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's Teodoro Hartz got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's Guillermo Frank was substituted for Steve Harris. Los Delfines made a substitution. Arquímedes Cesario replaced Oliver Bierhoff. Los Delfines's Ambrosio Bartolome was substituted for Hector Abadia. Los Delfines's Victor Jerrold was substituted for Saverio Regis. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arquímedes Cesario in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rogério Ceni saved Belgrano LOS PIRATAS from getting behind. Rogério Ceni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arquímedes Cesario, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. A very nice done corner allowed Hilario Asteri to score against Rogério Ceni in Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's goal. 0-1 after 75 minutes. Matías Patrone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cumhur Günay in the 78th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Los Delfines's Rogério Ceni threw himself towards the right post 79 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Arquímedes Cesario, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Rogério Ceni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arquímedes Cesario in the 81st minute of play. Matías Patrone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cumhur Günay in the 83rd minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
