Benedito Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Sagarana Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Dalmo de Brito came free, but Benedito Trigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 24 minutes in the game, Dalmo de Brito dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dalmo de Brito in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benedito Trigo saved Sagarana Clube from getting behind. Yu Yang Sang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Luiz Eduardo Galvão made a huge save. In the 33rd minute, Manoel de Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 35thth minute of the game Dalmo de Brito who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sagarana Clube's Benedito Trigo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luiz Eduardo Galvão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Éder Madureira in the 36th minute of play. After some careless play in the Sagarana Clube defense, Anselmo Fantini kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benedito Trigo. The Sagarana Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benedito Trigo should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Aesir FC FSCMZ booed when Sagarana Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Beto Heidemann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sagarana Clube's Benedito Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sydney Ramalho in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sydney Ramalho was the one to do the kick off. Luiz Eduardo Galvão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serafim Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sagarana Clube's Fabrício de Alcântara was substituted for Zé Roberto da Costa. In the 73rd match minute, Aesir FC FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathias Varela to maneuver through the defense. Manoel de Amorim hit a great ball. The Aesir FC FSCMZ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Aesir FC FSCMZ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
