After 4 minutes of play, Colognese FC's Ruben Casado made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andres van der Sar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ioan Cocârlă hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in MONTANHA's zone, Edgard Batista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andres van der Sar came out of the goal and Edgard Batista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Afonso Cardozo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredinho Carneiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wei Guang Xing in the 14th minute of the match. MONTANHA's Andres van der Sar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Batista in the 18th minute of play. Alfredinho Carneiro made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Afonso Cardozo sent off a good shot on target. Andres van der Sar came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Colognese FC's Edgard Batista. But to his dismay, Edgard Batista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 26th minute Ruben Casado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andres van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Colognese FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Ruben Casado made the kick off in the second half. 68 minutes into the match, MONTANHA's goalkeeper Andres van der Sar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgard Batista. MONTANHA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Geovanni Leme was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4.
