In the 4th minute Wei Guang Xing shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Orlan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andres van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leo Iigo in the 9th minute of play. In the 16th minute Wei Guang Xing shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Orlan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Afonso Cardozo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Christian Orlan was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. After 33 played minutes, MONTANHA's Gonçalo Matos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Christian Orlan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in MONTANHA reached it. After a rather tough play, MONTANHA's Gonçalo Matos got a free kick in the 38th minute. When Afonso Cardozo came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the MONTANHA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonso Cardozo couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

CE LAJEADENSE RS's Renato Quadros was substituted for Jorge Pires. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wei Guang Xing to strike the kick off in the second half. MONTANHA's Andres van der Sar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save MONTANHA from getting a goal against them. 84 minutes into the match, MONTANHA's goal looked a bit too open when Bater Palma came free, but Andres van der Sar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, CE LAJEADENSE RS's Andres van der Sar threw himself towards the right post 86 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bater Palma, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 87th match minute, MONTANHA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diogo Machado to maneuver through the defense. Andres van der Sar made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Bater Palma sent off a good shot on target. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The MONTANHA fans cheered their team off the field, for while CE LAJEADENSE RS had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
