The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 13th minute Trindade Atlético Club were awarded a corner. Sílvio Cavalcante went to the cornerflag to take it. Ruperto Emenon made a great header on Trindade Atlético Club's corner, it was just that Barcellos Mineiro FC's Patricio Ugutz managed to reach the ball for a save. 16 minutes into the game, Dale Dolar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Tiaguinho Correia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Teodoro Vaz got a throw-in 22 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Dagoberto Dracena. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dagoberto Dracena in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Patricio Ugutz saved Barcellos Mineiro FC from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Trindade Atlético Club's zone, Dale Dolar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiaguinho Correia came out of the goal and Dale Dolar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 29 minutes into the match, Trindade Atlético Club's goal looked a bit too open when Amerigo Gervasi came free, but Tiaguinho Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dale Dolar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tiaguinho Correia having to make a save. 40 minutes into the match, Barcellos Mineiro FC's Dale Dolar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tiaguinho Correia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Trindade Atlético Club's Tiaguinho Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amílton Loyola in the 43rd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dagoberto Dracena to make the kick off. The supporters of Trindade Atlético Club booed when Barcellos Mineiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amerigo Gervasi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patricio Ugutz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dagoberto Dracena, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. 53 minutes into the match, Barcellos Mineiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dagoberto Dracena came free, but Patricio Ugutz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
