The supporters of Säfvahöjden booed when SSC Ambrosini was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Forssell didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Van Schouten in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Björn Ekegren saved SSC Ambrosini from getting behind. 25 minutes into the game, SSC Ambrosini's Valdemar Åberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nono Gol made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 28th minute Håkan Petersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Björn Ekegren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Van Schouten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Björn Ekegren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Holger Granström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Simon Igelström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Holger Granström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SSC Ambrosini's Björn Ekegren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Van Schouten in the 46th minute of play. 48 minutes into the match, SSC Ambrosini's goal looked a bit too open when Mattias Albom came free, but Björn Ekegren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valdemar Åberg to make the kick off.
