In the 15th minute Vera Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Didier Schollens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Urki Parga got free with Didier Schollens in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 19 minutes, Urki Parga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. If Vicente Depino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Zuriko Lagala proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Inter de Guayaquil FC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Alpina FC booed when Inter de Guayaquil FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorenzo Secadura didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alpina FC played a much better game than Inter de Guayaquil FC and deserved their victory. The Inter de Guayaquil FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
