When Per-Oskar Nordstedt came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Ibis Football Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Per-Oskar Nordstedt couldn't finish the play. Romo Ungo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eurico Peixoto went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 37th match minute, Inter de Guayaquil FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerson Casas to maneuver through the defense. Romo Ungo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eurico Peixoto in the 39th minute of the match. A collision led to Inter de Guayaquil FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Jerson Casas hit a great ball. Emanuel Pernambucano made in the 44th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Inter de Guayaquil FC's Xusto Vada. After the first half Ibis Football Club were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Xusto Vada during the 50th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 51 played minutes Inter de Guayaquil FC got a freekick which was hit by Xusto Vada. Acácio Vasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rey Benagassi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Inter de Guayaquil FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. In the 75th minute, Eurico Peixoto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Acácio Vasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vicente Depino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Acácio Vasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vicente Depino, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 93rd minute, Bottero Ramallal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
