FC Ruh Lviv's Andriy Trubin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sten Vonk in the 4th minute of play. After 5 minutes, Toomas Lasso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Dundee and the FC Ruh Lviv players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 5th match minute, FC Dundee was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toomas Lasso to maneuver through the defense. 12 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Dundee's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Svyatoslav Krutyvus was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Ruh Lviv's players had a chance to rest. A collision led to FC Ruh Lviv getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Danylo Lobanovsjkyi hit a great ball. FC Ruh Lviv's Andriy Trubin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arno Luuk in the 19th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arno Luuk in the 20th minute of play forced FC Ruh Lviv's goalkeeper Andriy Trubin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, FC Dundee's Tom Are got control of the ball when Illja Klochko tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Edgardo Florian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the match, FC Dundee's goalkeeper Tom Are had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pylyp Vitvitskyi. Pylyp Vitvitskyi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Tom Are made a huge save. After a rather tough play, FC Dundee's Martin Mustikas got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Arno Luuk scored 0-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Andriy Trubin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sten Vonk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andriy Trubin having to interfere. Sergiy Loboyko succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 47th playminute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Myroslav Akymenko was the one to do the kick off. 58 minutes into the match, Arno Luuk dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Andriy Trubin, 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sten Vonk in the 61st minute of play forced FC Ruh Lviv's goalkeeper Andriy Trubin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tom Are showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Myroslav Akymenko in the 62nd minute of the match. Tom Are made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergiy Loboyko in the 63rd minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Arno Luuk had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andriy Trubin. FC Ruh Lviv's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arno Luuk was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. After some careless play in the FC Dundee defense, Myroslav Akymenko kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tom Are. The FC Dundee fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tom Are should have stopped the shot. 76 minutes into the match, FC Ruh Lviv's goal looked a bit too open when Arno Luuk came free, but Andriy Trubin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arno Luuk in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andriy Trubin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 79 minutes into the match, FC Dundee's goal looked a bit too open when Myroslav Akymenko came free, but Tom Are reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 81 minutes, Kaido Värk mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Dundee and the FC Ruh Lviv players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 81st match minute, FC Dundee was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaido Värk to maneuver through the defense. Svyatoslav Krutyvus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tom Are took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Myroslav Akymenko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute of the match, Sten Vonk tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Andriy Trubin saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The FC Ruh Lviv supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FC Dundee's performance. The match ended with a win for FC Dundee.
