Gil Motta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Cristian Paranaense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Fellipe Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Paranaense made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Marquinhos Schmidt sent off a good shot on target. In the 17th minute, Vasco FC's Gil Motta ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cristian Paranaense. Cristian Paranaense yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Vasco FC's Gil Motta got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hermínio Furtado charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hermínio Furtado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marquinhos Schmidt got free with Cristian Paranaense in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 38th minute, Gil Motta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Thiago Melo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thiago Melo in the 51stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Wellington Barbosa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Vasco FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 56th minute, when Germano Vergílio scored to the left of an out of position Wellington Barbosa, making the score, 1-1. Fellipe Ferreira hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. If Gil Motta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wellington Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thiago Melo in the 67th minute of the match. In the 68th match minute, Vasco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Inácio Penha to maneuver through the defense. Vasco FC's Wellington Barbosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Vasco FC from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marquinhos Schmidt in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristian Paranaense saved FLU ES fc from getting behind. A collision led to FLU ES fc getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Germano Vergílio hit a great ball. The supporters of Vasco FC booed when FLU ES fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Genílson de Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gil Motta in the 77th minute of play forced FLU ES fc's goalkeeper Cristian Paranaense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th match minute, FLU ES fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jailson de Sena to maneuver through the defense. 81 minutes into the match, Marquinhos Schmidt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cristian Paranaense. FLU ES fc's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marquinhos Schmidt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Cristian Paranaense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marquinhos Schmidt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Many of FLU ES fc's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. FLU ES fc may have spent more time on the ball, but Vasco FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
