Que se abra o mar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vito Custódio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Que se abra o mar's Leandro Cardozo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Guilherme de Mendonça in the 20th minute of play. Giovani Ramos hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 28th match minute, Nova Venécia-ES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elói Baptista to maneuver through the defense. Que se abra o mar's Claudinei Silveira was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 29th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Leandro Cardozo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giovani Ramos, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Que se abra o mar's goal looked a bit too open when Giovani Ramos came free, but Leandro Cardozo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st minute Vito Custódio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leandro Cardozo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leandro Cardozo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Guilherme de Mendonça in the 42nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudinei Silveira got free with Clemente Cardozo in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

After 55 played minutes Nova Venécia-ES got a freekick which was hit by Vito Custódio. After a rather tough play, Que se abra o mar's Wellington Rezende got a free kick in the 60th minute. After some careless play in the Que se abra o mar defense, Giovani Ramos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leandro Cardozo. The Que se abra o mar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leandro Cardozo should have stopped the shot. Elói Baptista could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Leandro Cardozo made a huge save. 68 minutes into the match, Que se abra o mar's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Guilherme de Mendonça came free, but Leandro Cardozo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nova Venécia-ES's Clemente Cardozo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gino Amaral in the 79th minute of play. Ronaldo Serra struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Clemente Cardozo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Que se abra o mar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elói Baptista in the 90th minute of play forced Que se abra o mar's goalkeeper Leandro Cardozo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Que se abra o mar's Leandro Cardozo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elói Baptista in the 94th minute of play. The Nova Venécia-ES players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
