The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sharizan Devan charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sharizan Devan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Felix Tee showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Heiko Faas in the 16th minute of the match. With 21 minutes on the clock, Frank Mahler commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Jasper von Ancken went to the wrong direction when Gage Yeo was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. When Lamar Hongyi came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Swanley FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lamar Hongyi couldn't finish the play. In the 33rd match minute, VfL Bochum was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robert Descoteaux to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Swanley FC's Sharizan Devan got a free kick in the 42nd minute. 43 minutes into the game, VfL Bochum's Axel Hilgendorf nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Felix Tee made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. If Heiko Faas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Axel Hilgendorf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lamar Hongyi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Jasper von Ancken made a huge save. 61 minutes into the match, VfL Bochum's goal looked a bit too open when Sharizan Devan came free, but Jasper von Ancken reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Axel Hilgendorf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lamar Hongyi struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Jasper von Ancken didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Swanley FC. Swanley FC's Felix Tee played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Hilgendorf in the 68th minute of play. Azam Chew kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Felix Tee stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Heiko Faas's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Heiko Faas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Heiko Faas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Felix Tee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Heiko Faas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 82 minutes into the match, VfL Bochum's Heiko Faas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Felix Tee narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lazlo Haugwitz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Felix Tee having to make a save. In the 84th minute, Muhammad Lee hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. VfL Bochum's Heiko Faas got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
