In the 4th minute, Virgil Şimonca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Academia Rio getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Eric Pășcuțoiu hit a great ball. Academia Rio were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after DINAMO's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nicolae Hizo took the corner. Academia Rio's Nicolae Hizo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ysmael Marfil in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ysmael Marfil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergiu Coșeriu in the 93rd minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, DINAMO's goal looked a bit too open when Sergiu Coșeriu came free, but Ysmael Marfil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle went the supporters of DINAMO were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Academia Rio side.
