After 14 played minutes, Poetass FC's Vicente Heidemann shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Karl Martin Bell Burnell came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Poetass FC reached it. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by Poetass FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Deng Shu Kuan was slow to take the kick. During this time Alvinegro de Tupã's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Silvinho Meira managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 25 minutes into the game, Alvinegro de Tupã's Recai Garipbaş nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. José Maria Goiano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The Alvinegro de Tupã fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when Alvinegro de Tupã's Recai Garipbaş looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. José Maria Goiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Recai Garipbaş in the 32nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Recai Garipbaş managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alvinegro de Tupã's supporters rose to their feet, but Recai Garipbaş was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zeng Xu Yuan got free with Karl Martin Bell Burnell in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 44 minutes into the game, Åke Hellström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alvinegro de Tupã's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Poetass FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Alvinegro de Tupã's Åke Hellström got a free kick in the 44th minute. José Maria Goiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Recai Garipbaş in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Alvinegro de Tupã were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Alvinegro de Tupã made a substitution. Aníbal Leal replaced Åke Hellström. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Witalis Brysz to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Aníbal Leal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Maria Goiano was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Poetass FC's Kalle Billberg got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aníbal Leal in the 62nd minute of play forced Poetass FC's goalkeeper José Maria Goiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jon-Egil Schjelderup took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Karl Martin Bell Burnell. Karl Martin Bell Burnell dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After some careless play in the Alvinegro de Tupã defense, Zeng Xu Yuan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Karl Martin Bell Burnell. The Alvinegro de Tupã fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Karl Martin Bell Burnell should have stopped the shot. Poetass FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
