THE FAVOURITES's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Goiás Esporte Clube the free kick. The supporters of Goiás Esporte Clube booed when THE FAVOURITES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Barna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Goiás Esporte Clube's Dênis Faria got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sebastian Zawada showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Diniz in the 15th minute of the match. Stanislaw Iwaszko hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the game, Goiás Esporte Clube's Umberto Peres nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sebastian Zawada made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. After a rather tough play, Goiás Esporte Clube's Dênis Faria got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Sebastian Zawada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcus Diniz in the 46th minute of play. After the first half Goiás Esporte Clube were leading 0-7. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

One of THE FAVOURITES:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Goiás Esporte Clube:s goal. Marcus Diniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in THE FAVOURITES's zone, Dênis Faria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastian Zawada dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-13. In the 86th minute, Marcus Diniz made a precise shot to the right of Sebastian Zawada. THE FAVOURITES's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-14. In the 89th minute Marcus Diniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Zawada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sebastian Zawada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus Diniz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastian Zawada didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcus Diniz went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-15 was the resulting score. When the match clock showed 95 minutes, the score became 0-16 when Marcus Diniz sped through THE FAVOURITES's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sebastian Zawada. When the final whistle sounded Goiás Esporte Clube left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than THE FAVOURITES.
