The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Martin van Gessel to strike the kick off in the second half. Alexsandro Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roderick Scheper in the 51st minute of play. After some careless play in the ajax defense, Jorge Garcia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ronald Velthuis. The ajax fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ronald Velthuis should have stopped the shot. Alexsandro Leite made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Peter Driel sent off a good shot on target. Alexsandro Leite was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Roderick Scheper showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-2 in the 66 minute of play. 70 minutes into the game, ajax's Karsten van Ankeren nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alexsandro Leite made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. In the 74th minute of the match, Roderick Scheper tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alexsandro Leite saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 80th minute, SC Mandassaia's Conrado Lopez seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Conrado Lopez the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of SC Mandassaia protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Conrado Lopez had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of ajax booed when SC Mandassaia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Lopez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martin van Gessel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Oséas Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Mandassaia's supporters rose to their feet, but Oséas Moraes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronald Velthuis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Peter Driel got free with Alexsandro Leite in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The SC Mandassaia supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching ajax's performance. The match ended with a win for ajax.
