Håkan Kjellman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florin Niță having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's goal looked a bit too open when Jannik Roblaa came free, but Zafer Hürsel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Håkan Kjellman notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Navigatii Bacău's Florin Niță. Florin Niță was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Navigatii Bacău's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Johannes Botvidsson scored to the left of an out of position Florin Niță, making the score, 3-0. Johannes Botvidsson came free with the goalkeeper in the 36th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Florin Niță could save by the left post. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Navigatii Bacău's goalie and right to Jörgen Ekeroth. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Navigatii Bacău's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Håkan Kjellman's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Håkan Kjellman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Florin Niță showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Håkan Kjellman in the 56th minute of the match. Florin Niță showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Emander, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 97th minute of the match Jörgen Ekeroth sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Florin Niță skillfully saved the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers 徐默钢 in the 98th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Florin Niță saved Navigatii Bacău from getting behind. FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
