The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute Hilario Platon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Quintyn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabio Quintyn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hilario Platon, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Lázaro Lucado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomás Chinto in the 8th minute of play. Húsares were awarded a corner in the 9th minute after Club Atletico Huaco's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ubaldo Kismi took the corner. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Florencio Ferran in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lázaro Lucado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 19 minutes, Florencio Ferran made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Club Atletico Huaco's Lázaro Lucado tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Lázaro Lucado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Fabio Quintyn came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Club Atletico Huaco's Hilario Platon. But to his dismay, Hilario Platon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

In the 53rd minute, Florencio Ferran ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lázaro Lucado was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Florencio Ferran's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lázaro Lucado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. In the 58th match minute, Club Atletico Huaco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roque Loiola to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st minute Húsares were awarded a corner. Ubaldo Kismi went to the cornerflag to take it. Florencio Ferran's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lázaro Lucado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Húsares's Fabio Quintyn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Húsares from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florencio Ferran in the 72nd minute of play forced Club Atletico Huaco's goalkeeper Lázaro Lucado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Club Atletico Huaco's Godfredo Llin was substituted for Pedro Ticho. Húsares's Teobaldo Ibon was substituted for Florencio Ferran. Irinel Merișor kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Húsares's Fiz Sacristán was substituted for Josué Vargas. In the 81st minute, Emanuel Haimar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fabio Quintyn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Baldomero Perez's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. In the 86th minute Emanuel Haimar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Quintyn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Húsares support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
