Lúcio Mandrak was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alberto Mendonça showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 23 minute of play. After taking down the ball on AF CERRADO's corner Nestor Cordeiro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Valdo Catarinense quite easily take care of the ball. Alberto Mendonça succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 4-0 in the 43rd playminute. If Eliseu Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.
