Alberto Jaunti was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 40th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Outlaws FC's Vefa Doğay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Freddy Valentine in the 44th minute of play. Vefa Doğay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddy Valentine in the 46th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The coaching staff of Yala protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Santiago Feo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Vukašin Kastratović shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. With a little luck, Yala's Zeledon Curcio got control of the ball when Mané Batista tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Vukašin Kastratović fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Outlaws FC's protests and gave Vukašin Kastratović a yellow card for diving instead.
