Alejandro Rufo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Eulalio Paskal made a huge save. Diego Maradona could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Eulalio Paskal made a huge save. In the 6th match minute, Sporting de Gijón was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejandro Rufo to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Genaro Abilio during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Albigasta FC's Genaro Abilio got a free kick in the 8th minute. The supporters of Sporting de Gijón booed when Albigasta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Urtsua didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Albigasta FC's Eulalio Paskal got control of the ball when Matias Bilintx tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eulalio Paskal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Maradona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alejandro Rufo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eulalio Paskal having to make a save. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Matias Bilintx sped through Albigasta FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eulalio Paskal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diego Maradona got free with Eulalio Paskal in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Albigasta FC's Eulalio Paskal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alejandro Rufo in the 24th minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Albigasta FC's goalkeeper Eulalio Paskal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Diego Maradona. Óscar Cordoba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Genaro Abilio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Urtsua in the 27th minute of play. Saturnino Curcio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Eulalio Paskal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Matias Bilintx managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sporting de Gijón's supporters rose to their feet, but Matias Bilintx was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eulalio Paskal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eulalio Paskal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Matias Bilintx in the 34th minute. In the 39th minute of the match, Diego Maradona tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Eulalio Paskal saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Matias Bilintx was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 44th minute. Sporting de Gijón's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Matias Bilintx kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eulalio Paskal. That made the score 2-0 in the 47 minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Matias Bilintx to make the kick off. Eulalio Paskal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matias Bilintx in the 53rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Albigasta FC defense, Alejandro Rufo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eulalio Paskal. The Albigasta FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eulalio Paskal should have stopped the shot. Matias Bilintx recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eulalio Paskal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matias Bilintx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sporting de Gijón made a substitution. Mario Zanabria replaced Saturnino Curcio. In the 75thth minute of the game Rune Fanström who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Albigasta FC's Eulalio Paskal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Matias Bilintx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eulalio Paskal came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting de Gijón's Diego Maradona. But to his dismay, Diego Maradona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. Eulalio Paskal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Venancio Emesto in the 85th minute of play. Eulalio Paskal didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Sporting de Gijón's Matias Bilintx shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 8-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Eulalio Paskal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Venancio Emesto in the 89th minute of play. Eulalio Paskal came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting de Gijón's Diego Maradona. But to his dismay, Diego Maradona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matias Bilintx in the 97th minute of play forced Albigasta FC's goalkeeper Eulalio Paskal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the Sporting de Gijón players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
