In the 18th match minute, Alcover was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iban Sancho to maneuver through the defense. If Şerafettin Kantara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd match minute, Istinye JK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Atilla Tarkan Oyalp to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the game, Iban Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Cezmi Yalaza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Şerafettin Kantara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. Marcial Amorebieta had in the 40thth minute some difficulties stopping Berke Açıkel's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Iban Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cezmi Yalaza having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yaşar Nuri Baliç was the one to do the kick off. Istinye JK's Şerafettin Kantara got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 58th minute, Jerold Gomar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
