In the 21st minute Dominic Salazar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maciej Brzeszczak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lew Yashin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iwan Grunwalski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute, Barry McCray hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Fioravanti in the 30th minute of play forced Trzynastki Błeszno Cz-wa's goalkeeper Maciej Brzeszczak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gert Nordkvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Lew Yashin made a huge save. For all the effort they put into the match, the Modlau players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
