If Marcel da Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Modlau's Lew Yashin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcel da Rocha in the 3rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Fioravanti in the 8th minute of play forced Red Devils's goalkeeper Braulio Gartxot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ludomir Ludwiczak made in the 10th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Jarmo Laik. In the 17th minute Claudio Fioravanti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Braulio Gartxot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcel da Rocha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lew Yashin having to make a save. Lew Yashin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcel da Rocha in the 20th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the match, Red Devils's goal looked a bit too open when Jarmo Laik came free, but Braulio Gartxot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Braulio Gartxot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarmo Laik in the 25th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Modlau's Barry McCray got a free kick in the 26th minute. Modlau's Lew Yashin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcel da Rocha in the 28th minute of play. With a little luck, Modlau's Lew Yashin got control of the ball when Marcel da Rocha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lew Yashin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcel da Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Marcel da Rocha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lew Yashin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Ludomir Ludwiczak made in the 44th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Marcin Fronczak however managed to control.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Claudio Fioravanti stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Marcel da Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lew Yashin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Braulio Gartxot made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Dominic Salazar sent off a good shot on target. In the 64th minute of the match Modlau got a corner. Red Devils's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Barry McCray ran over to the corner to take the kick. Barry McCray made a great header on Modlau's corner, it was just that Red Devils's Braulio Gartxot managed to reach the ball for a save. Braulio Gartxot made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Dominic Salazar sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Marcel da Rocha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lew Yashin was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Dominic Salazar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Braulio Gartxot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Modlau made a substitution. Damazy Jucha replaced Jarmo Laik. Lew Yashin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcel da Rocha in the 76th minute of play. The supporters of Modlau booed when Red Devils was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kazimierz Deyna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Braulio Gartxot came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Modlau's Claudio Fioravanti. But to his dismay, Claudio Fioravanti quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. When Red Devils's Marcel da Rocha in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Modlau's goalie prevented a goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
