The corner led Emerald's Gabriel Mălaimare to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcos Chuan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Victor Piţurcă might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcos Chuan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Victor Piţurcă ran back to his position shaking his head. Gabriel Mălaimare made a great header on Emerald's corner, it was just that Inter Miami CF's Marcos Chuan managed to reach the ball for a save. Marcos Chuan was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Victor Piţurcă showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 25 minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Victor Piţurcă dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marcos Chuan, 3-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Grigore Stătescu during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 33 played minutes Emerald got a freekick which was hit by Grigore Stătescu. Marcos Chuan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Piţurcă in the 36th minute of play. Marcos Chuan came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Emerald's Gabriel Vermeşan. But to his dismay, Gabriel Vermeşan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Bogdan Lobonț made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lino Arias in the 46th minute of play. A collision led to Emerald getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Gabriel Vermeşan hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victor Piţurcă to make the kick off. Gabriel Vermeşan struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Marcos Chuan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Emerald. After 58 minutes of play, Emerald's Victor Piţurcă made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcos Chuan was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 67th minute Victor Piţurcă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Chuan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Domingos Sein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bogdan Lobonț having to interfere. Marcos Chuan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Piţurcă, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. If Victor Piţurcă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 83rd minute, Victor Piţurcă ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcos Chuan was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. 86 minutes into the game, Emerald's Gabriel Vermeşan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcos Chuan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. In the 92nd minute, Victor Piţurcă made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Chuan. Inter Miami CF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-0. Gabriel Vermeşan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Chuan having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Emerald fully deserved thier win.
