The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hazar Tuncay's late challenge caught a Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hazar Tuncay helped the player get up and apologised. Hazar Tuncay hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. The Cruzeiro Esporte Clube fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Aaron Marquez looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 21stth minute of the game Aaron Marquez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Halkali SK's Muhsin Yılkan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eustacio Rojelio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hazar Tuncay in the 25th minute of the match. Eustacio Rojelio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Esat Uluşahin in the 30th minute of play. Aaron Marquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Muhsin Yılkan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aaron Marquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Şevket Arısan kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The Halkali SK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hazar Tuncay stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Esat Uluşahin fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Halkali SK's protests and gave Esat Uluşahin a yellow card for diving instead. In the 52nd match minute, Halkali SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esat Uluşahin to maneuver through the defense. In the 54th minute, Aaron Marquez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 59 played minutes Halkali SK got a freekick which was hit by Selim Mürşit. Aaron Marquez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Halkali SK's Muhsin Yılkan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aaron Marquez in the 63rd minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Hazar Tuncay had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eustacio Rojelio. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hazar Tuncay was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 75 minutes into the match, Halkali SK's goalkeeper Muhsin Yılkan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aaron Marquez. After 80 played minutes Cruzeiro Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Andres Calisto. In the 81st minute Esat Uluşahin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eustacio Rojelio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube booed when Halkali SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Şevket Arısan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Esat Uluşahin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90th minute, Aaron Marquez made a precise shot to the right of Muhsin Yılkan. Halkali SK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After 93 played minutes Cruzeiro Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Ramon Eladio. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
