The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 played minutes Marrakech Rabat FC got a freekick which was hit by Youssef Lamin. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Yuriy Varennikov in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sayid Mahdoufi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 9 minutes of play, Daguestan's Petr Lisich made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sayid Mahdoufi was left in no man's land by his defense there! A hard shot 13 in the game by Ashraf Oussalah from a close distance when the talented Eduard Berezutskiy managed to make a qualified save. Daguestan's players were relieved. Safi El Mrini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eduard Berezutskiy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ashraf Oussalah in the 16th minute. A collision led to Daguestan getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Yuriy Varennikov hit a great ball. 21 minutes into the match, Marrakech Rabat FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sergey Koshelev came free, but Sayid Mahdoufi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the game, Ilya Dementiev cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Sayid Mahdoufi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sayid Mahdoufi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Petr Lisich, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ilya Dementiev scored 0-3 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sayid Mahdoufi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 30th match minute, Marrakech Rabat FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salah Tiberkanin to maneuver through the defense. After 31 minutes, Petr Lisich made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Marrakech Rabat FC's Sayid Mahdoufi tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Daguestan's Ilya Dementiev in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ashraf Oussalah made a kick off. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Marrakech Rabat FC! Sayid Mahdoufi had in the 53rdth minute some difficulties stopping Varlam Tikhonov's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Petr Lisich managed to get in a good position for a shot. Daguestan's supporters rose to their feet, but Petr Lisich was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sayid Mahdoufi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Petr Lisich took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sayid Mahdoufi. Sayid Mahdoufi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. A collision led to Daguestan getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Vadim Krumm hit a great ball. Yuriy Varennikov blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sayid Mahdoufi having to make a save. Ilya Dementiev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ashraf Oussalah in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eduard Berezutskiy saved Daguestan from getting behind. Sayid Mahdoufi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Petr Lisich's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Varlam Tikhonov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Daguestan's supporters rose to their feet, but Varlam Tikhonov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sayid Mahdoufi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 94th minute Ashraf Oussalah shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduard Berezutskiy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Daguestan eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
