Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cesinha Leme in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bunda Lele prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bunda Lele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guilherme Peres, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 19th match minute, Nova Erechim - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Miranda to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Nova Erechim - FSCMZ booed when Remedios SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chivu Quintana didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Remedios SC's Bunda Lele got control of the ball when Edin Džeko tried to sneak it across the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edin Džeko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Remedios SC's Bunda Lele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guilherme Peres in the 95th minute of play. After 95 played minutes Remedios SC got a freekick which was hit by Chivu Quintana. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
