The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Arnaldo Morandé showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelo Salas in the 8th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Canales in the 10th minute of play forced ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s goalkeeper Clemente Savier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th match minute, ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel Olivar to maneuver through the defense. Arnaldo Morandé took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Salas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnaldo Morandé didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcelo Salas went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Arnaldo Morandé stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcelo Salas's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by VERDE NILO's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rodolfo Parrini was slow to take the kick. During this time ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s players had a chance to rest. 25 minutes into the match, ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s goalkeeper Clemente Savier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustavo Canales. VERDE NILO's Arnaldo Morandé played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Salas in the 28th minute of play. After some careless play in the VERDE NILO defense, Marcelo Salas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnaldo Morandé. The VERDE NILO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnaldo Morandé should have stopped the shot. After 38 played minutes ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ got a freekick which was hit by Jerônimo Paes. After 43 played minutes VERDE NILO got a freekick which was hit by Florinio Pavez. Rodolfo Parrini didn't quite understand what happened when in the 45 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Arnaldo Morandé made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Barrera in the 46th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcelo Salas made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Marcelo Salas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arnaldo Morandé. That made the score 1-4 in the 53 minute of play. Clemente Savier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Canales in the 61st minute of the match. Arnaldo Morandé came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Marcelo Salas. But to his dismay, Marcelo Salas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Edilberto Bustillos was substituted for Roger Lantadilla. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Ubarna Marcos was substituted for Rodrigo Barrera. VERDE NILO's Arnaldo Morandé played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristopher Damian in the 71st minute of play. A collision led to ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Ubarna Marcos hit a great ball. VERDE NILO's Román Potts was substituted for Carlos Saúl Arens. In the 72nd match minute, ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ubarna Marcos to maneuver through the defense. VERDE NILO's Arnaldo Morandé played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristopher Damian in the 75th minute of play. Clemente Savier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Alberto Urrutia in the 78th minute of the match. In the 81st minute Gustavo Canales shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clemente Savier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Jerônimo Paes shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 83rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Arnaldo Morandé but with some difficulty. 86 minutes into the game, Cristopher Damian cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Arnaldo Morandé was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristopher Damian in the 90th minute of play forced VERDE NILO's goalkeeper Arnaldo Morandé to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristopher Damian in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnaldo Morandé saved VERDE NILO from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Ubarna Marcos took a quick shot and it went in 1-7 without a chance for Arnaldo Morandé to make any attempt to save it. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
