The Club Deportes Santa Cruz fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Podador Raheiro got free with Arnaldo Morandé in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 7th match minute, VERDE NILO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfonso Portales to maneuver through the defense. Alfonso Portales made in the 9th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Nastasio Page. After some careless play in the VERDE NILO defense, Podador Raheiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnaldo Morandé. The VERDE NILO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnaldo Morandé should have stopped the shot. Podador Raheiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnaldo Morandé read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. The supporters of Club Deportes Santa Cruz booed when VERDE NILO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfonso Portales didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, VERDE NILO's Arnaldo Morandé got control of the ball when Podador Raheiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ilkka Markkula showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Alberto Urrutia in the 38th minute of the match. VERDE NILO were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after Club Deportes Santa Cruz's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Emanuel Jodar took the corner. The corner led VERDE NILO's Emanuel Jodar to fire away a dangerous shot which Ilkka Markkula despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Podador Raheiro took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Arnaldo Morandé to make any attempt to save it. Hüseyin Rahmi Toper kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Podador Raheiro to strike the kick off in the second half. Arnaldo Morandé was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Club Deportes Santa Cruz made a substitution. Yan Zhi Chuan replaced Podador Raheiro. When the match clock showed 67 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Yan Zhi Chuan sped through VERDE NILO's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Arnaldo Morandé. VERDE NILO made a substitution. Román Potts replaced Carlos Saúl Arens. 72 minutes into the match, Yan Zhi Chuan notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of VERDE NILO's Arnaldo Morandé. Arnaldo Morandé was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ilkka Markkula showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Urrutia, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Marcus Edström got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lolo Saavedra made in the 80th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Román Potts however managed to control. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcus Edström in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnaldo Morandé saved VERDE NILO from getting behind. In the 87th minute, Antonio Gorri made a precise shot to the right of Arnaldo Morandé. VERDE NILO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. Yan Zhi Chuan might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnaldo Morandé. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Yan Zhi Chuan ran back to his position shaking his head. VERDE NILO's Arnaldo Morandé played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yan Zhi Chuan in the 90th minute of play. Arnaldo Morandé stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yan Zhi Chuan's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
