In the 14th match minute, Taguarussu SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simão Gaúcho to maneuver through the defense. Alberto Pires made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Loki Jónasson in the 22nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulrich Jóngeirsson in the 25th minute of play forced Taguarussu SS's goalkeeper Alberto Pires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sztorm Keflavik FC's Steinn Bjarmason proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Sztorm Keflavik FC from getting a goal against them. Steinröður Hansson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alberto Pires having to make a save. In the 34th minute Loki Jónasson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Steinröður Hansson to make the kick off. Játgeir Jóngeirsson kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 57th minute, Remo Gonçalves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Borgþór Georgsson hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Gústav Arnljótsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Pires having to interfere. A collision led to Taguarussu SS getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Remo Gonçalves hit a great ball. Gústav Arnljótssons short, quick shot in the 73rdth minute got Alberto Pires to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Steinn Bjarmason took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lúcio Messias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 80 minutes into the game, Lúcio Messias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Taguarussu SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sztorm Keflavik FC the free kick. Lúcio Messias kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Steinröður Hansson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alberto Pires was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. Játgeir Jóngeirsson hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match.
