Bernardo Illart started the match with the kick off. A collision led to El Retorno de Palermo getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Guaberto Rufio hit a great ball. Apolo Larrañaga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Illart in the 6th minute of play. In the 7th minute Bernardo Illart shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apolo Larrañaga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. El Retorno de Palermo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ernesto Claude in the 9th minute. El Retorno de Palermo's Ernesto Claude was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Apolo Larrañaga in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Modesto Olentzaro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pierre Fevre in the 12th minute. Modesto Olentzaro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pierre Fevre, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Bernardo Illart managed to get in a good position for a shot. The referee ignored El Retorno de Palermo's protests and gave Omar Canor a yellow card for diving instead. After 34 played minutes El Retorno de Palermo got a freekick which was hit by Guaberto Rufio. 37 minutes into the match, Talcampeón FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristo Lorencio came free, but Apolo Larrañaga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guaberto Rufio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Apolo Larrañaga having to interfere. Talcampeón FC's Apolo Larrañaga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Illart in the 43rd minute of play. After 44 played minutes El Retorno de Palermo got a freekick which was hit by Guaberto Rufio. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Pierre Fevre recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 54 minutes into the match, Guaberto Rufio notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Talcampeón FC's Apolo Larrañaga. Apolo Larrañaga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, Talcampeón FC's Apolo Larrañaga got control of the ball when Cristo Lorencio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Talcampeón FC's Apolo Larrañaga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Talcampeón FC from getting a goal against them. If Bernardo Illart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, El Retorno de Palermo's Omar Canor got a free kick in the 67th minute. If Cristo Lorencio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute, Cerilo Bustunzuria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the last second Apolo Larrañaga throw himself and got hold of the ball when Bernardo Illart in the 78thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Cristo Lorencio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 85 minutes into the match, Talcampeón FC's goalkeeper Apolo Larrañaga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guaberto Rufio. In the 89th match minute, El Retorno de Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florencio Patrido to maneuver through the defense. Cristo Lorencio hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Talcampeón FC's zone, Guaberto Rufio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Apolo Larrañaga came out of the goal and Guaberto Rufio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
