After 5 played minutes Marquês de Herval got a freekick which was hit by Selami Rezan. Severino Vergílio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Paraibano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Malte Örtendahl in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Luizinho Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 11th minute, Nestor Paraibano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Marquês de Herval fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 16th minute Alfredo Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severino Vergílio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Maurício Tróia came free, but Dida Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel got control of the ball when Malte Örtendahl tried to sneak it across the goal line. Toby Major hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Through an outstanding action, after 33 minutes, Dida Taffarel successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Severino Vergílio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Martins in the 34th minute of the match. Marquês de Herval were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after Estação F.C's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Moussa Kabre took the corner. Moussa Kabre made a great header on Marquês de Herval's corner, it was just that Estação F.C's Severino Vergílio managed to reach the ball for a save. Luizinho Ramos kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Belmiro Figueiredo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Belmiro Figueiredo to strike the kick off in the second half. Severino Vergílio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nestor Paraibano in the 56th minute. Nestor Paraibano had several of the Estação F.C's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 58 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-3 score and a disappointed Severino Vergílio as he didn't even see the shot coming. Severino Vergílio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nestor Paraibano in the 61st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Moussa Kabre got free with Severino Vergílio in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Severino Vergílio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from German Cano, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Alfredo Martins struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Severino Vergílio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marquês de Herval. Falcão Albuquerque hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. After 73 played minutes Estação F.C got a freekick which was hit by Ulisses Proença. Dida Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maurício Tróia, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After a rather tough play, Estação F.C's Luizinho Ramos got a free kick in the 75th minute. In the 77th match minute, Estação F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luizinho Ramos to maneuver through the defense. 78 minutes into the match, Estação F.C's goalkeeper Severino Vergílio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfredo Martins. After 79 minutes, Alfredo Martins made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Estação F.C's Severino Vergílio tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 84th minute Eliseu Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the game, Estação F.C's Eliseu Cabral nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dida Taffarel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Severino Vergílio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of German Cano's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Severino Vergílio came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins. But to his dismay, Alfredo Martins quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5.
