Romário Dantas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sidnei Baptista in the 12th minute of the match. Sidnei Baptista might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Romário Dantas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sidnei Baptista ran back to his position shaking his head. Armandinho Pernambucano kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Laranja EC's Romário Dantas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidnei Baptista in the 45th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Santos Campineiro's Onuralp Ergüden got a free kick in the 46th minute. Santos Campineiro's Anibal Enekoitz was substituted for Sidnei Baptista. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

53 minutes into the match, Laranja EC's goal looked a bit too open when Anibal Enekoitz came free, but Romário Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anibal Enekoitz in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romário Dantas saved Laranja EC from getting behind. Romário Dantas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anibal Enekoitz's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. In the 58thth minute of the game Anibal Enekoitz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Laranja EC's Romário Dantas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Adilson Camargo hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. 65 minutes into the game, Sidney Albuquerque recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Romário Dantas. Sidney Albuquerque showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Adilson Camargo's late challenge caught a Laranja EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adilson Camargo helped the player get up and apologised. Adilson Camargo kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. In the 74th minute Santos Campineiro were awarded a corner. Cristiano Antunes went to the cornerflag to take it. After 76th play minutes Sidney Albuquerque shot 0-5, a short shot which went by Romário Dantas and just under the crossbar into goal. After some careless play in the Laranja EC defense, Anibal Enekoitz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Romário Dantas. The Laranja EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Romário Dantas should have stopped the shot. When Sidney Albuquerque came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Santos Campineiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sidney Albuquerque couldn't finish the play. The Laranja EC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Santos Campineiro were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
