The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Alfredo Martins had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ernesto Favoretto. Diamond Football Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfredo Martins was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When the match clock showed 7 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Alfredo Martins sped through Diamond Football Club's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ernesto Favoretto. Ernesto Favoretto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Martins in the 11th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the match, Diamond Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Martins came free, but Ernesto Favoretto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ernesto Favoretto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfredo Martins went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Alfredo Martins took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ernesto Favoretto. Ernesto Favoretto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. The audience was convinced that Alfredo Martins's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernesto Favoretto was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 43 minutes into the match, Alfredo Martins had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ernesto Favoretto. After 55 minutes of play, Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ernesto Favoretto was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Alfredo Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Selami Rezan during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. But to his dismay, German Cano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-11. 84 minutes into the game, Marquês de Herval's German Cano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ernesto Favoretto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-12. After 87th play minutes Alfredo Martins shot 0-13, a short shot which went by Ernesto Favoretto and just under the crossbar into goal. Alfredo Martins succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-14 in the 95th playminute. Marquês de Herval's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
