The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Argentinos Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Enrique Veremundo came free, but Rigoberto Nazario reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zdzislaw Jenkot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruperto Matei in the 8th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mats Falch in the 12th minute of play forced Bangla Desh Fobal Club's goalkeeper Zdzislaw Jenkot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zdzislaw Jenkot made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Bartlomiej Mosiniak sent off a good shot on target. Roberto Lewandowski might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rigoberto Nazario. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denis Mero couldn't finish the play. In the 92nd minute, Dong Xun Ning hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
