Ismael Musko started the match with the kick off. Ismael Musko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 11th minute Osvaldo Tiniebra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Urbes Cenzano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. El Retorno de Palermo's Amancio Urtats proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save El Retorno de Palermo from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rigoberto Anaya in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Urbes Cenzano saved Club Puerto Quito from getting behind. In the 16th minute, Ismael Musko made a precise shot to the right of Urbes Cenzano. Club Puerto Quito's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Club Puerto Quito's Oswaldo Barrionuevo got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, El Retorno de Palermo's Isaac Colas got a free kick in the 19th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Pepito Plasencia notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of El Retorno de Palermo's Amancio Urtats. Amancio Urtats was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, El Retorno de Palermo's Amancio Urtats got control of the ball when Oswaldo Barrionuevo tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Anastasio Salvidor fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Retorno de Palermo's protests and gave Anastasio Salvidor a yellow card for diving instead. Anastasio Salvidor hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Ismael Musko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 31st minute, Pepito Plasencia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rigoberto Anaya in the 34th minute of play forced Club Puerto Quito's goalkeeper Urbes Cenzano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Urbes Cenzano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rigoberto Anaya, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Ismael Musko took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Urbes Cenzano. Urbes Cenzano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Urbes Cenzano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Lehior in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Urki Espino was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Club Puerto Quito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robin Cabero to maneuver through the defense. Urki Espino scored 2-2 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amancio Urtats, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Amancio Urtats showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oswaldo Barrionuevo, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Urki Espino took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Amancio Urtats. Amancio Urtats dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. In the 63rd minute, Rodolfo Bonilla made a precise shot to the right of Amancio Urtats. El Retorno de Palermo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. The supporters of Club Puerto Quito booed when El Retorno de Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Anaya didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Club Puerto Quito fans' excitement grew in the 70th match minute when Club Puerto Quito's Urki Espino looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Amancio Urtats took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pepito Plasencia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice moves Osvaldo Tiniebra could shoot a difficult shot in the 74th minute, which Urbes Cenzano however easily saved by the left post. Amancio Urtats showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oswaldo Barrionuevo in the 75th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oswaldo Barrionuevo in the 76th minute of play forced El Retorno de Palermo's goalkeeper Amancio Urtats to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 80 minutes of play, Club Puerto Quito's Oswaldo Barrionuevo made it 6-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Amancio Urtats was left in no man's land by his defense there! Amancio Urtats didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pepito Plasencia went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-2 was the resulting score. Amancio Urtats came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Club Puerto Quito's Pepito Plasencia. But to his dismay, Pepito Plasencia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-2. El Retorno de Palermo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
