With an extended leg and a bit of luck Einar Klysnov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of U21 Denmark booed when U21 Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Manuel Hernández didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Denmark's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marcelino Calzada was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Chile's players had a chance to rest. Francisco Hernández was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. The U21 Denmark fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when U21 Denmark's Eli Løndov looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 33 minutes into the game, Gorm Jattu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Denmark's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Chile the free kick. Gorm Jattu kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. U21 Denmark's Einar Klysnov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fidelio Aldunate in the 34th minute of play. In the 35th minute of the match U21 Chile got a corner. U21 Denmark's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Marcelino Calzada ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Marcelino Calzada got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Einar Klysnov quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With an all-out effort, U21 Denmark's Rodrigo Huilipan threw himself towards the right post 38 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jannich Wandler, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Einar Klysnov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Manuel Hernández in the 41st minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, U21 Chile's Fidelio Aldunate sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Einar Klysnov narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 44 played minutes U21 Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Jozef Ilve.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hipolito Fritz was the one to do the kick off. Einar Klysnov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hipolito Fritz, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. After a rather tough play, U21 Denmark's Fillip Sivananda got a free kick in the 65th minute. In the 65th match minute, U21 Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fillip Sivananda to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eli Løndov in the 67th minute of play forced U21 Chile's goalkeeper Rodrigo Huilipan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Einar Klysnov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hipolito Fritz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodrigo Huilipan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hassan Mylting in the 70th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Eli Løndov put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Rodrigo Huilipan. U21 Denmark's Sven Herling was substituted for Jozef Ilve. Einar Klysnov had great luck who in the 78thth minute grab hold of the ball when Hipolito Fritz from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. In the 82nd minute, Álvaro Barco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the U21 Chile defense, Asmus Molbo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rodrigo Huilipan. The U21 Chile fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodrigo Huilipan should have stopped the shot. In the 92nd minute Alex Wenike shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Huilipan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the U21 Chile defense, Constantin Corfitzen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rodrigo Huilipan. The U21 Chile fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodrigo Huilipan should have stopped the shot.
