Ahmed Long showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amadeo Erasto, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After a defensive mix-up in CF Scalonetos's zone, Amadeo Erasto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ahmed Long came out of the goal and Amadeo Erasto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Evelio Urtats kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. If Cleto Frechoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 28 minutes, Erubiel Cerilo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CF Scalonetos and the Atlético Rio Cuarto players grew even worse after the yellow card. Celso Lonzo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cleto Frechoso to make the kick off.
